This Monday I don't want to lie down and fake death...

                                                                         Monday Minute

This Monday has dawned bright and clear…there is less humidity in the air and I don’t feel as I’m being suffocated to death or swimming in a thick viscous liquid as I try to walk. On this cheerful note I present to you This week’s Monday Minute which is hosted by Ian from The Daily Dose of Reality and is this week being co-hosted by Jana…we share the same name…from Boobies, Babies and a Blog!!!

Has anyone you've known personally lived to at least 100?
My grandma, my father’s mother lived upto a very long age, almost hundred. She was one of the strongest, most beautiful women I have known in my lifetime. I was closest to her of all my grandparents’ and remember her soothing touch as she put me to sleep sometimes.

What material possession do you value the most?
Most certainly my books. I have had a considerable collection since childhood and have a special bond with each one of them. Their weathered dog-eared faces give me a sense of comfort every time I hold one in my hands.

What do you think happens to us after we die?
Hmmm…I haven’t actually given much thought to it. I would like to think there is a giant library somewhere, where people can go and rest eternally, in the company of their favourite books and of course meet the authors who wrote them.

Most embarrassing item in your house?
Would have to be this one item of clothing which I bought during one of my rare moments of fashion amnesia. I actually paid quite a bit for this and regretted buying it the moment I reached home. Although returning it would have been easier I wore this THING out of sheer idiocy and bull-headedness!

and finally...

If you could rename yourself, what would your name be?
Something Greek sounding…probably after one of the gods or goddesses… I simply have this weakness for Greek mythological names and don’t see any reason as to why not.

Friday Night Frights...

Today’s post is a result of my imagination which has always been somewhat overactive, especially as a child. This coupled with my inexplicable fear of the night  and all the morbid things associated with it, has led to this short post of 55 words. If you want to know more about this go to the amazing g man…

Here is my post...

Night night comes knocking
Not timidly, but loud and shocking
You have me in your sticky grasp
With not a hope nor glimpse of escape
Screams that die a pre-mature death
Get released in hot painful poisonous waves
Waking up soaked in a cold sheet of sweat
See that I am not in my bed

                                                                                                  friday-follow

Also, I have taken part in the Friday Follow which is being hosted by three amazing bloggers Kmama at The Daily Dribbles, Elizabeth at The Crafty Charlestonian and Brittany Ciara at Not Your Average Teen. Thank you lovely ladies for hosting and people do go and visit their awesome blogs or you won't know what you are missing out on.

Have a nice weekend everyone!!!

Mind Shutdown Monday...

                                                                                Monday Minute

This week seems to have passed in a blur what with the trauma of working on a Sunday and all. I can barely keep my eyes open, I am that tired. Just have enough time to answer Ian’s questions on the Monday Minute which is being co-hosted by not your average teen

This week’s questions are:

1 - Have you ever had any feelings towards one of your teachers back in the day?
No, most of the good looking teachers in my school were females so that should be self explanatory.

2 - What's the most embarrassing thing that happened while at work?
I once screamed LOUDLY in a very theatrical manner at my supervisor right in front of all my co-workers. It was pretty embarrassing having to face this person from then on.

3 - When was the last time you crapped yourself sharted?
Nope, never happened.

4 - What is one thing you have always kept a secret and why have you kept this a secret for so long?
I do not have too many secrets. I am actually pretty boring and nothing ever happens in my life that can be warranted to be a secret.

and finally...

5 - What's your best advice for us habitual coffee drinkers as to not have to poop right after drinking it?
Teach your body that it is simply not right and it will have to refrain from doing so no matter how painful! LOL!

Friday funnies...

I seem to be in a strange mood right now, confused about everything but clear too about many things in a way that is quite scary.  For someone who is quite the expert at fading into the background I seem to be doing a good job lately of getting noticed for the right reasons. There is going to be a lot of activity in this space in the near future, so watch out.
Ok… to come to our Friday 55 now, which is hosted by the talented g man

Today’s 55 is a combination of my zombie like state in the morning and leftover nightmares which plague me no matter what I do, which is not much I must admit. It is just random words and thoughts that came to me as soon as I sat in front of my comp to write…most of my posts are written in this manner. Hope you are able to make some sense of it…

Here's my 55...

''kiss me once with your sweet, poisonous lips
kiss me even though it may prove to be my very last kiss
Every time you turn around
You will find me standing here
For what am I?
But a statue soaked in delightful slimy lore.
Shame, outrage and a helpless rage oozing from my every pore.''

Manic Monday Minute...

Hi, here I am predictable as clockwork, ready to take part in the Monday Minute which is being hosted by Kmama today over at the daily dribbles. To know more about this go to her amazing site or to Ian’s blog who hosts this usually.

Hope you enjoy reading my answers as much as I enjoyed writing them! Happy Monday! I can just imagine the glares and vengeful thoughts I have inspired with these last two words…

Here are my answers:

1 - What's the specs of the first computer you owned?
If I knew how to answer this question I wouldn’t be getting subjected, every now and then, to the gentle ribbing (read wild, insane marathonic laughter) from the people who proclaim to be close to me.

2 - Are you on Twitter/Facebook/etc, if so link it/them up
Yes. I am on Facebook…how do you go about linking it up? This is just to drive the point home regarding my total lack of internet skills…no really how do you do it?

3 - Who's more to blame for the oil mess in the gulf - BP or the Gov't and why?
Both I say but BP certainly. How can you be so damn uncaring? The Govt should have had a proper monitoring system in place to prevent such disasters in the first place…

4 - What's your favorite Dr. Suess book?
How The Grinch Stole Christmas!!!

And finally...

5 - What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a filthy, indecently rich man’s wife so that my manicure would always stay fresh
or maybe work as a maid in some swish hotel and get noticed by a rich sheikh who would end up proposing marriage…Ring a Bell anyone?

FATAL FRIDAYS….

I am overwhelmed that even a single one of you has taken the time to miss me, and wonder of wonders ask me to come back. I am deeply touched.

These past few weeks have been a nightmare what with dirty politics in the office and being forced to work with boorish people. I cannot begin to tell you how rude some people can be and I am unfortunately not capable of handling rudeness. Maybe, this situation would not have been so bad if I was a little less sensitive. There was a nasty scene in the office involving an individual who doesn’t have the slightest clue of how to speak with someone and who thinks he is God’s gift to the workplace.

Anyhoo, best not to dwell on the unpleasant, and try to move on. There have been some other developments in this regard, which I will gradually reveal.
Now, as I cannot help being frivolous and silly on a Friday, let me subject you to one of my 55 word stories…let me know if you survive this…If you want to know more about this rush to the amazing g-man's blog!!!

“It’s okay for you to love me
Not think twice before saying anything to me
I’ll be there when you are full of doubt
Crying silently, without sound, deep into the heart of the night
You will not have to smile fake smiles
I will go the whole distance with you no matter the miles.’’

Gotcha didn't I? bet you were expecting something hilarious...I wouldn't know how to crack a joke if it killed me...that's just one of my stupid handicaps, my not able to joke or make people laugh.

I have learned to live with myself though and harbour no illusions, atleast in this regard.

Have a great weekend all you guys!

LOST IN SENSELESS MEANINGLESSNESS...

I have been reduced to these notes...such is my plight. These notes will say a little of what I feel and where I am right now. I promise I will be back soon and with a lot more visibility. Missing you all exciting people...

Friday Fright...

I am posting a Friday Flash 55 after what seems like ages which makes it all the more exciting. This took me approximately about 4 minutes and 44 seconds to write and by the time it was finished I was laughing at myself. If you want to know more about this rush to the blog of the gman who writes the most amazing stories in 55 words! Have a rocking Friday!!!

Wish I’d met you on a reality dating show
Could have gotten with you only to dump you on the morrow
Would have connected with you instantly and then get turned off just as quickly.
But, you probably would have shrieked with fright on knowing me and left me in the dark of the night.

Getting the hang of things once again...

I am excited to a somewhat unknown degree to be making these cute little notes and posting them. I swear that making them is one half of the excitement and the other half is all the comments you guys leave showing your enjoyment of them!
Though I only have a few of them today, I assure you they came straight from my heart.

I don’t know if you guys know about my somewhat obsessive nature but I seem to have found something new to obsess about. I promise you will be hearing a lot more about this in the coming few days. Let’s see if you guys can guess what this obsession is!!! Au revoir!

If you want to know more about post-it-tuesdays go to the lovely Supahmommy

Monday Morning Happiness...

It’s so much fun to be taking part in Ian’s Monday Minute after what seems like a lifetime. Here are my answers for today:

1 - Do you *snort*?
No I do not think so or remember ever doing so.

2 - Our friend, has a nickname and it's Daffy.  What's your nickname?
I do have one and I don’t mind it. Sometimes though it makes me feel like a farmer. It’s Joe.

3 - Do you know sign language?
No but that is no surprise seeing as to how I am verbally challenged too. Communication except for the written kind is not for me!

4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?
Wouldn’t have the slightest clue totally oblivious that I am of my surroundings…

5 - Do you sleep with electronic devices - i.e. laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, etc?
No…I like my sleep smooth and without any breaks. I do keep my phone on, though it hardly ever rings at night.

A nice present to unwrap...

I am finally back after my vacation, thoroughly refreshed and ready to take on the world…so bring it on!!! Just kidding. I am in a frivolous kind of mood though and think that the best way to keep this going would be indulging myself. Now, please do not be shocked at my laziness for that is an essential part of who I am. I know I have been totally MIA for these past couple of weeks but I promise I will totally make up for it. I am going to make my comeback(sniggering at myself) of sorts…if I may call it that by posting an award and answering some lovely questions that the lovely Alice had asked me. Better late than never Alice…hope you agree with me!

As usual, the same rules apply as always, just answer the questions, make up ten of your own, and pass the award on to six favourite bloggers of your own.

So, here goes:

Favourite place in the world?
My birthplace, a small hilly town where it rains for most of the year and which has some of the most generous and warm people around. Full of natural beauty this will always be where I would want to come back someday.

 Favourite colour?
Black.

Countryside or seaside?
The seaside. It would make the most perfect setting for me to  relax with a book for company.

Drama, horror or Comedy?
Comedy,  especially if it is performed by Jim Parsons aka Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory.

Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter?
Winter. There is something about Winter that soothes me.

Sunshine or Moonlight?
Moonlight. I love the mystery of night and moonlight is a major part of it.

Silver or Gold?
Silver.

 Favourite day-dream?
That I would become a famous author one day who would inspire people to love and to be generous.

Favourite Web-Sites?
Mostly fashion sites cos I love fashion.

What do you think of being Tagged?
It’s great. I get to answer about a lot of stuff that I usually would not talk about.

Now for my ten questions:

{1} Favourite childhood memory?
{2} Favourite movie?
{3} Paris or London?
{4} Sarcasm or Humour?
{5} The Beach or the Hills?
{6} Dawn or dusk?
{7} Reading or something else?
{8} Favourite yesteryear moviestar?
{9} Favourite snacks?
{10} What does getting an award mean to you?

Now to hand this on to six others, and I choose;

Remember to paste my award linking it back to me, and enjoy being tagged!

Tuesday Trouble...

Tuesday’s here and I’m taking a few minutes to post this quickly, at the speed of light, if I may exaggerate. I will get back to my regular schedule of elaborate posting and maniacal commenting soon, I promise. Once, I am back from my vacation. There is a lot to be done before I leave unfortunately, which leaves me with little time. For now, all of you can whet your appetites with my lovingly brought up and patiently nurtured post-its!!!
To know more about this, go to the awesome Supahmommy. I’m sure she’ll take you under her wing!

Just enough time for a Monday Minute...

Monday Minute

I am posting this at breakneck speeds as I do not have a lot of time today(God! when will this crazy streak end?...loud wailing)  but do not want to suffer from withdrawal symptoms if it doesn't go up! To get addicted to this awesome questionaire just scoot to Ian's Blog.

1 - What drugs have you done in your life?

None. I am sooo boring. The only drug induced high I have ever felt was a slight fuzziness when I consumed large quantities of cold medicine!

2 - A/S/L?

25/f/undisclosed...for security reasons

3 - Do you pick your nose?

Ummm…seeing as to how I am not so popular, let me not give more reasons for people to run away from me!

4 - What's your favorite childhood cartoon

Tom and Jerry…especially the parts where Tom is getting beat up!

5 - List the URL, of what you believe to be the best blog post you've ever done
Rain ... this is one of my initial posts and takes me straight back to my childhood. I love this post especially, as it has so many pleasant memories attached for me, and came straight from my heart.

Life is Good...especially when you get an award!!!

Yay…I have snagged an adorable award and been tagged by the lovely Alice @ Alice in Wonderland who is one of my favourite bloggers and writes the most sumptuous poetry. I must admit this is the second time she has given me this honour and I am pleased as punch, tickled pink, delirious with joy…you get my drift. But, not so delirious that I cannot post about it and announce it to the whole wide world.
Now, as with every tag and award there are certain sweet conditions attached, for what else can they be if not sweet. I have to answer ten simple questions and spread this joy amongst six other bloggers.

Ok, here are my answers to Alice’s questions:
If you were a Disney cartoon character, who would you be?

Minnie Mouse with her long eyelashes and tomboyish attitude.

Sweet or Savoury?
Savoury, I do not have much of a sweet tooth. I love dark chocolate though!

If you could spend an evening with anyone, fact/fiction, living or dead, who would you choose?
I would love to spend an evening in the company of the haughty Mr Darcy and teach him a thing or two about attitude!

Plane, Train or Automobile?
Train, because it’s the most romantic. Sheesh  I can’t believe I admitted that!

Picnic or Cinema?
Picnic, lazing on a warm blanket with a book for company.

Cat or Dog?
Definitely Cat.

Book or D.V.D?
A book, always!

Long hair or short hair?
Long hair. There is no mystery to short hair.

Favourite T.V. Show?
Friends and now the Big Bang Theory.

First Band or Artist that you followed?
Maybe, Norah Jones. I have never followed anyone particularly but I have always loved her music.

It’s easy peasy see?  Now all I have to do is come up with ten awesome questions of my own and pass this award on to six of my favourite bloggers.

My Ten Questions are:

  1. Favourite fictional character?
  2. What or who would you like to be born as in your next life?
  3. Is there anyone in your life with whom you share all your secrets?
  4. What was the most embarrassing nickname you were ever given?
  5. Who is your favourite Friends character?
  6. Tango or the Ballet?
  7. Blind date or Speed dating?
  8. A home cooked meal or eating out?
  9. Favourite movie?
  10. Last thing you do at night?
Now, I simply love this part. I am tagging

Ian
Matthew
Hootin’ Anni
Grandma Yellow Hair

Now, all you have to do is answer my questions and paste my award. Then, feel free to concoct ten questions of your own and pass them and the award to six others.

A little time on a Tuesday...

I have started to sound like a one track record with my constant rants about being unbelievably, frustratingly, annoyingly, going crazy with busyness, busy. Nevertheless that is the sad truth and there is no escaping it. Sorry, if I have not been able to visit and comment on all of your blogs as frequently as I usually do. The only reason you are seeing this post today is because it was already scheduled in advance.

So this is how my Post it Tuesday will roll which I am linking up to the ever so ingenious Supahmommy…go to her blog if you find this irresistible and want to do something similar…
