This Monday I don't want to lie down and fake death...

                                                                         Monday Minute

This Monday has dawned bright and clear…there is less humidity in the air and I don’t feel as I’m being suffocated to death or swimming in a thick viscous liquid as I try to walk. On this cheerful note I present to you This week’s Monday Minute which is hosted by Ian from The Daily Dose of Reality and is this week being co-hosted by Jana…we share the same name…from Boobies, Babies and a Blog!!!

Has anyone you've known personally lived to at least 100?
My grandma, my father’s mother lived upto a very long age, almost hundred. She was one of the strongest, most beautiful women I have known in my lifetime. I was closest to her of all my grandparents’ and remember her soothing touch as she put me to sleep sometimes.

What material possession do you value the most?
Most certainly my books. I have had a considerable collection since childhood and have a special bond with each one of them. Their weathered dog-eared faces give me a sense of comfort every time I hold one in my hands.

What do you think happens to us after we die?
Hmmm…I haven’t actually given much thought to it. I would like to think there is a giant library somewhere, where people can go and rest eternally, in the company of their favourite books and of course meet the authors who wrote them.

Most embarrassing item in your house?
Would have to be this one item of clothing which I bought during one of my rare moments of fashion amnesia. I actually paid quite a bit for this and regretted buying it the moment I reached home. Although returning it would have been easier I wore this THING out of sheer idiocy and bull-headedness!

and finally...

If you could rename yourself, what would your name be?
Something Greek sounding…probably after one of the gods or goddesses… I simply have this weakness for Greek mythological names and don’t see any reason as to why not.

Mind Shutdown Monday...

                                                                                Monday Minute

This week seems to have passed in a blur what with the trauma of working on a Sunday and all. I can barely keep my eyes open, I am that tired. Just have enough time to answer Ian’s questions on the Monday Minute which is being co-hosted by not your average teen

This week’s questions are:

1 - Have you ever had any feelings towards one of your teachers back in the day?
No, most of the good looking teachers in my school were females so that should be self explanatory.

2 - What's the most embarrassing thing that happened while at work?
I once screamed LOUDLY in a very theatrical manner at my supervisor right in front of all my co-workers. It was pretty embarrassing having to face this person from then on.

3 - When was the last time you crapped yourself sharted?
Nope, never happened.

4 - What is one thing you have always kept a secret and why have you kept this a secret for so long?
I do not have too many secrets. I am actually pretty boring and nothing ever happens in my life that can be warranted to be a secret.

and finally...

5 - What's your best advice for us habitual coffee drinkers as to not have to poop right after drinking it?
Teach your body that it is simply not right and it will have to refrain from doing so no matter how painful! LOL!

Manic Monday Minute...

Hi, here I am predictable as clockwork, ready to take part in the Monday Minute which is being hosted by Kmama today over at the daily dribbles. To know more about this go to her amazing site or to Ian’s blog who hosts this usually.

Hope you enjoy reading my answers as much as I enjoyed writing them! Happy Monday! I can just imagine the glares and vengeful thoughts I have inspired with these last two words…

Here are my answers:

1 - What's the specs of the first computer you owned?
If I knew how to answer this question I wouldn’t be getting subjected, every now and then, to the gentle ribbing (read wild, insane marathonic laughter) from the people who proclaim to be close to me.

2 - Are you on Twitter/Facebook/etc, if so link it/them up
Yes. I am on Facebook…how do you go about linking it up? This is just to drive the point home regarding my total lack of internet skills…no really how do you do it?

3 - Who's more to blame for the oil mess in the gulf - BP or the Gov't and why?
Both I say but BP certainly. How can you be so damn uncaring? The Govt should have had a proper monitoring system in place to prevent such disasters in the first place…

4 - What's your favorite Dr. Suess book?
How The Grinch Stole Christmas!!!

And finally...

5 - What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a filthy, indecently rich man’s wife so that my manicure would always stay fresh
or maybe work as a maid in some swish hotel and get noticed by a rich sheikh who would end up proposing marriage…Ring a Bell anyone?

Monday Morning Happiness...

It’s so much fun to be taking part in Ian’s Monday Minute after what seems like a lifetime. Here are my answers for today:

1 - Do you *snort*?
No I do not think so or remember ever doing so.

2 - Our friend, has a nickname and it's Daffy.  What's your nickname?
I do have one and I don’t mind it. Sometimes though it makes me feel like a farmer. It’s Joe.

3 - Do you know sign language?
No but that is no surprise seeing as to how I am verbally challenged too. Communication except for the written kind is not for me!

4 - What's a sample convo from your hood?
Wouldn’t have the slightest clue totally oblivious that I am of my surroundings…

5 - Do you sleep with electronic devices - i.e. laptop, Blackberry, iPhone, etc?
No…I like my sleep smooth and without any breaks. I do keep my phone on, though it hardly ever rings at night.

Just enough time for a Monday Minute...

Monday Minute

I am posting this at breakneck speeds as I do not have a lot of time today(God! when will this crazy streak end?...loud wailing)  but do not want to suffer from withdrawal symptoms if it doesn't go up! To get addicted to this awesome questionaire just scoot to Ian's Blog.

1 - What drugs have you done in your life?

None. I am sooo boring. The only drug induced high I have ever felt was a slight fuzziness when I consumed large quantities of cold medicine!

2 - A/S/L?

25/f/undisclosed...for security reasons

3 - Do you pick your nose?

Ummm…seeing as to how I am not so popular, let me not give more reasons for people to run away from me!

4 - What's your favorite childhood cartoon

Tom and Jerry…especially the parts where Tom is getting beat up!

5 - List the URL, of what you believe to be the best blog post you've ever done
Rain ... this is one of my initial posts and takes me straight back to my childhood. I love this post especially, as it has so many pleasant memories attached for me, and came straight from my heart.

Monday Morning Madness...

Monday Minute

Following Ian’s checklist, creepy picture- one, Monday Minute- one, answers to crazy questions- five. There may be a new button from next week onwards so I would like to pay homage to this familiar and endearing image. Here are my answers to this week’s questions. If you like talking about weird stuff and are not conscious answering questions of a revealing nature Ian’s blog is the place to go!!!

1 - Ever take a shit in the woods?
Not in the woods no…but out in the fresh air yes. Once, way back in the days when I was  a wee child and visiting my mum’s native village and it was a village in every term of the word. I was merrily learning how to  swim in the stream when I had to do my business and my grandma asked me to do it there, in the sand. After staring at her for a complete minute to make sure she was serious, I did!

2 - If you won $1,000, what's the first thing you would do with it besides give me a cut?
I would probably blow it all on books, books and more books after giving you your cut though.

3 - What's your favorite phrase?
Out of my mind…back in five minutes. It describes me to a t.

4 - Fill in the blank - the world would be a better place if ______ left the planet.
Paris Hilton with her sickening smile and her ‘wows’ and ‘cools’ oh and dirty politicians too!

5 - How do you take your coffee or tea?
I like my coffee black and steaming; better still if freshly ground.

A Brand New Monday Minute...

Here we go again, why do we have to wait a full week before answering Ian’s thought provoking, sometimes crazy weird but always interesting questions! Here’s this week’s Monday Minute courtesy of Ian the Funny. Rush to his blog if you want to know more about this or participate in it, a decision which will be taken In Delirium no doubt.

Monday Minute

What's wrong with fake breasts?
Nothing at all. It’s totally upto the individual. If someone wants people to speak to their chest that’s their prerogative. I guess the only downside to this would be that, they would never have the chance to experience deep meaningful conversations with their sweetheart looking soulfully into their eyes. You know they would be busy staring someplace else…

List your latest run-in with the Carnival of Idiocy.
I guess this could refer to two things, Ian's post by this same and recently when I had to cool my heels for a considerable amount of time while a brat of a schoolgirl refused to remove her car from the middle of the road where she had parked it to get something from a shop. No amount of honking horns and raised voices could budge her. I have never seen someone so oblivious to others' and in such a zen- like state of mind.

Name one thing you'd like to tell your ten year ago self.
I would like to tell my ten year old self to go out and have some fun for God’s sake. I was too serious for my own good even if I say so myself. If I had made some efforts to open up to people and go out a bit maybe I wouldn’t be the socially handicapped idiot, klutz, dolt I am today.

What's your favorite word that's not in the dictionary?
PROUDY : this word is used quite frequently to my amazement by tweens, teens and adults as well to describe someone who is proud. It has me in splits for some weird reason every time...

Why do fools fall in love?
Because they make a habit of falling in stuff… so it’s just a force of habit with them you see.
